Bill Ari @ImBillRay • 1d Replying to @crotchner2 and someone is recording them recording anyway lol
  • 07
TXNIZ @_txniz. 1d Replying to @crotchner2 It used to be digital cameras and handheld video cameras, now it's phones, relax.
  • 08
jp @jourdanok. 1d Replying to @crotchner2 If phones existed back then it would've happened too, we just used disposable cameras
  • 09
Andrew Bragg @AndrewBragg5555 Replying to @crotchner2 Follow At school performances I'll often be the only adult present, clapping, smiling, and enjoying, while every other adult is holding up their phone. It's quite sad.

Jeniceri @Jenicerri - 1d Replying to @crotchner2 Do we really need to make everything an issue? Is everything really this alarming? Words like dystopian are losing their meaning.

André Marcel Har... @andreharris89 Follow Replying to @crotchner2 How is this different from when I was born in the 80s getting Polaroids and disposable cameras shoved in my face to capture every single moment I farted? lol
  • 12
Jonathan Cook @jonnywonny. 1d Replying to @crotchner2 But they're not looking solely through their phone they are just glancing at their screens to ensure they have a good shot.
  • 13
Gift of God @Relobs 1d Replying to @crotchner2 People take all of these videos and probably never re watch them ●
  • 14
Jasmine Yeager Nov... @Texastargirl Hot take but there is literally nothing wrong with this and I'm tired of y'all acting like there is. If this was the 90s and instead of a phone they had camcorders and dispo cameras nobody This is the EXACT SAME would say ● Follow i THING.

(he/they) @notcishet - 19h the doc im working on rn is literally about how we have humiliated ourselves into believing that authentic memories cannot be captured on a phone n that these people must be performing for someone else when all they're doing is archiving moments THEY want to remember
  • 16
Lakyn Thee Stylist @OgLakyn. 12h Anyway, take it from someone who quite literally has zero pictures from my childhood or of my family in my possession: this baby is so lucky that there's going to be so much documentation of their earliest moments.
  • 17
Squide @Squideeboi - 13h I regret being brainwashed to thinking that regular documentation of important life events is bad, because now I regret not taking more pics of people and events
  • 18
Cora Harrington @lingerie_addict Follow Sometimes people like to look back at important moments and reminiscence. Memories are faulty and fickle and fallible. People die. A video lets you relive that exact moment again and again. That's why people take videos like this. Also, if this is your dystopia, you're blessed.

chloe Follow @chloeikennedy i've been thinking about this discourse all day and my main take away is that social media & surveillance has warped everyone's sense of reality bc neither side of the argument mentions the fact that we are watching this through a camera propped up by, most likely, the mother or father, but they are excluded from this argument because we all have been conditioned into thinking that the perception a video is filmed are our own eyes.
  • 20
(sab) Their Tot... @sasponella ● Follow Unpopular opinion but if you live in an age where you can easily and accurately document important memories and then save them to share for maybe the rest of history, why wouldnt you want to do that?
  • 21
Peach Saliva @PeachSaliva 16h A lot of new moms feel pressured to let God and everyone into the room directly after what is likely one of the more traumatizing and/or exhausting events of their life, but the phones..? I'd have asked them to turn their around.
  • 22
suspicious limewi... @rudapu_92 Follow I can tell none of you remember the 90s because we did this exact same thing with camcorders, and it's perfectly normal and fine. No one in the room cares. The mom doesn't care. The baby doesn't care. It's just you, someone who's chronically online and not even in the video.

Rasin @R451n. 16h god forbid 3 out of like 8 people take a video of the most amazing thing that has ever happened to someone they care about
